Glendowyr L Schappell

Glendowyr L. Schappell, 89, of Topton, died Monday, January 9, 2012 in her residence. She was the wife of Earl H. Schappell. They were married June 28, 1941.

Born in Topton, she was a daughter of the late John A. and Neida L. (Springer) Smith. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Topton. Mrs. Schappell was a 1940 graduate of Kutztown Area High School, and a 1942 graduate of the former Allentown Business School. She was employed as the secretary to the Dean of Instruction by the former Kutztown State Teacher’s College, Kutztown. Mrs. Schappell was a member of the Woman’s Club of Topton.

She is survived by Husband, Daughters, Cynthia D. (Schappell) wife of Charles Bennett, Jacksonville, FL, and Karen E. (Schappell) Plessl fiancé of Gary R. Breshers, Topton; Son, Tyrone A. Schappell, a resident at Kutztown Manor. She is also survived by a Grandson, Lance E. Plessl.

Funeral Services are Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Ludwick Funeral Home, 25 East Weis Street, Topton. Interment in Topton Union Cemetery, Topton. Friends may call Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the funeral home.
