Glenda C. (Christ) Laubach, 70, of Kutztown, died on Sunday, May 1, 2016 in her home. She was the widow of Dr. David C. Laubach, who died February 13, 2015.
Born in Danville, Montour County, she was a daughter of the late Glenwood and V. Beryl (Dewalt) Crist. Mrs. Laubach was a member of Saint John's United Church of Christ, Kutztown. A graduate of Montgomery High School, Lycoming County, Glenda continued her education at Lycoming College, Williamsport, receiving a bachelor's degree in English. Glenda met her late husband while both were teaching English in Pennsylvania. Mrs. Laubach also worked as a library assistant in Westfield High School, Westfield, MA. After relocating to Pennsylvania, Glenda worked as a secretary at the Rodale Institute. Glenda and her late husband, David, loved attending bluegrass music festivals.
She is survived by Daughters, Kristi A. Laubach, companion of Ryan M. Wetherhold, Kutztown and Karina J. (Laubach), wife of Troy A. Sarge, Reading. Other survivors include a Brother, Lynn A., widower of Julia D. (Smith) Crist, Montgomery, PA. There are also 2 Grandchildren, Vincent S. Sarge and Giavanna M. Sarge and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at 12:00 noon from Saint John's United Church of Christ, 257 West Walnut Street, Kutztown, with Reverend Michael W. Beynon, officiating. Inurnment will follow in Hope Cemetery, Kutztown. Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday from 11:00 AM to 12:00 noon in the church.
The family requests contributions be made in Glenda's memory to Saint John's United Church of Christ Memorial Fund, 257 West Walnut St., Kutztown, PA 19530. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
