Gladys R. (Heffner) Reinert, 94, of Alburtis, died Saturday, March 6, 2021, in her residence. She was the widow of John H. Reinert, who died April 13, 1979. Born in Richmond Township, she was a daughter of the late Harvey and Verna (Readinger) Heffner. A member of Huff's Union Church, Alburtis, Gladys enjoyed making crafts for the bazaar. She was also an artist and enjoyed painting, quilting, sewing and knitting.
Early in her life, Gladys was employed by Fleetwood Shirt Corporation as a sewing machine operator for several years. Following that time, she was a homemaker and volunteered her time with church and community activities.
Gladys is survived by three sisters: Madeline (Heffner) Spohn, Lyon Station; Marie (Heffner) Wessner, Topton and Jeanette (Heffner) Winkler, Fleetwood; and a brother: Paul Heffner, Portland, Tennessee. In addition to her husband John and parents, Gladys was predeceased by two sisters: Laila (Heffner) Fegely; and Anna (Heffner) Henry; and brothers: Fred Heffner; W. Russell Heffner; Monroe Heffner; and David Heffner.
Services and interment in Huff's Union Church Cemetery will be private at the convenience of the family. There are no public viewing or calling hours.
