Gladys R Luckenbill

Gladys R. (Mertz) Luckenbill, R.N., 84, a resident of Grand View Manor, Fleetwood, and formerly of Kutztown, Bradenton, FL, and West Virginia, died Wednesday, December 3, 2014 in HCR ManorCare, Sinking Spring, where she was a patient since August. She was the widow of Lee J. Luckenbill, who died October 8, 2011 .

Born in Lyon Station, she was a daughter of the late Elmer A. and Esta F. (Hertzog) Mertz. She was a member of New Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Fleetwood. Mrs. Luckenbill was a 1948 graduate of Kutztown Area High School, and a 1951 graduate of Saint Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing, Reading. She was employed as a Registered Nurse by Saint Joseph Medical Center, at their former city of Reading location, for 20 years, retiring in 1973 .

She is survived by Sons, Joseph L., husband of Gay S. (Masters) Luckenbill, Kutztown, and James E. Luckenbill of West Virginia; Granddaughter, Jenna M. Luckenbill. She was predeceased by a Daughter, Audrey S. Luckenbill in 1955 .

Funeral Services will be held Monday, December 8, 2014 at 10:30 AM from Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown with Pastoral Care Provider Ruth F. Doty officiating. Interment will follow in New Jerusalem Union Cemetery, Fleetwood (Rockland Township). Relatives and friends may call Monday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the funeral home .
