Gladys M Fields

Gladys M. Fields, 91, of Topton, formerly of Kutztown, died Thursday, April 12, 2012 in The Lutheran Home at Topton. She was the widow of Harry J. Fields who died July 6, 1991.

Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late James, Sr., and Helen M. (Geisinger) Bollinger. Mrs. Fields was a member of St. Peters United Church of Christ, Topton. She was employed as a custodian by the former Andys Outfitters, Kutztown for five years, retiring in 1989. Prior to that, she was employed as a custodian by the former Deisher Knitting Mill, Kutztown for eight years. Mrs. Fields was a member of Kutztown Fire Company and Lyons Fire Company Ladies Auxiliaries, where she served Lyons as a secretary for 13 years. She also served as the assistant secretary for the Relief Association in 1988.

She is survived by Daughters, Mary J. (Fields) wife of Rene A. Thomsin, Pottsville, and Dianne L. (Fields) wife of Russel C. Conrad, Kutztown. She is also survived by 2 Grandchildren, Chris A. husband of Tracy (Becker) Fields, Lisa M. (Manwiller) Gonsalves, Scott R. husband of Diane M. (Smith) Conrad, and 6 Great Grandsons, Michael A. Fields, Alan Becker, Travis, Dylan, and Dalton Mohring, and Jacob Conrad. She was predeceased by Brothers, James Bollinger, Jr., and George W. Bollinger.

Funeral Services are Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Ludwick Funeral Home, 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, 19530. Friends may call Tuesday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the funeral home. Inurnment will be private at the convenience of the family in Lyons Cemetery, Lyon Station.

The family requests contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 498 Bellevue Avenue, Reading, PA 19605. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
