Gerald L. “Nup” Boyer, 79, of Lenhartsville, formerly of Topton, died Thursday, February 23, 2012 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township where he was a patient since February 9, 2012. He was the husband of June E. (Rauenzahn) Boyer. They were married October 18, 1952.

Born in Topton, he was a son of the late Ralph and Marion K. (Seibert) Boyer. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Topton. Gerald was employed over 20 years as a brick mason for the former Kern Masonry, Topton, until his retirement in 1995. He was a member of the Army National Guard attaining the rank of Sergeant. He was the Ammo Chief of the Artillery Division from 1950 to 1953, having served during the Korean Conflict. Nup played on several area softball teams in the position of catcher. A member of the Topton Fish & Game Association, he enjoyed hunting and watching sporting events.

He is survived by Wife, Daughters, Gale R. (Boyer) wife of Glen A. Landon, Sr., Lenhartsville and Holly K. (Boyer) wife of Thomas J. Glennon, Olympia, WA; Sons, Rodney L. husband of Elisabeth A. (Ilgenfritz) Boyer, Wernersville and Troy A. husband of Sally A. (Lillington) Boyer, Kutztown. Other survivors include a Brother, Barry Boyer, Nazareth, 6 Grandchildren, and 5 Great Grandchildren. He was predeceased by a Sister, Geraldine (Boyer) Yocum and a Brother, Clarence "Sonny" "Blacky" Boyer.

Memorial Services are Monday, February 27, 2012, 2:00 PM from Trinity Lutheran Church, Home Avenue & East Smith Street, Topton. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM in the church.

The family requests contributions be made to the Memorial Fund of Trinity Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 37, Topton, PA 19562-0037. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Topton, PA.
