George W. Bollinger, 86, of Topton, died Monday, May 23, 2011 in the Lutheran Home at Topton. He was the husband of the late Mary A. (Croll) Bollinger who died August 16, 2009.
Born in Topton, he was a son of the late James, Sr. and Helen (Geisinger) Bollinger. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Topton, where he was a former member of the church council. George was a 1942 graduate of Kutztown Area High School. He was employed as a foreman in the research and development department at the former Caloric Corp., Topton for 26 years retiring in 1986. Prior to that, he was employed as a bottler for Wert’s Beverages, Topton, for 24 years. George was an original member of the Brandywine Minstrels in 1968.
He is survived by Daughter, Wanda M. (Bollinger) wife of Harold D. Scarl, Mertztown; Son, Terry G. Bollinger, Oley; Sister, Gladys (Bollinger) Fields, Topton. He is also survived by Grandchildren, Amiee M. Bollinger, Jeffery M. Bollinger, Justin D. Bollinger, and Great Grandchildren, Emma, Ethan, Keegan, and Myles Bollinger.
Memorial Services are Thursday, May 26, 2011 at 7:30 PM in Trinity Lutheran Church, Home Avenue and East Smith Street, Topton. Inurment will be private at the convenience of the family in Topton Union Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday, from 6:00 to 7:30 PM in the church.
The family requests contributions be made to Trinity Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 37, Topton, 19562. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Topton, PA.
