George E Adam

George E. Adam, age 92, of 118 Crystal Ridge Road, Kutztown PA, died Thursday, October 17, 2002 in his home.

Born in Richmond Township PA, he was the son of the late Irvin and Mary (Kruse) Adam. He was a member of Zion Moselem Lutheran Church, Kutztown, where he served on the Church Council. He was a Farmer in the Kutztown area until 1955. From 1957 to 1991 he worked on the Road Crew and was Road Supervisor for Richmond Township. He was also a Butcher for 65 years for local farmers and a demonstrator at the Kutztown Folk Festival. He was also involved in the preparation and dismantling of the Kutztown Folk Festival exhibits for 46 years.

He is survived by his Companion, Edna E. (Bachman) Reitenauer, with whom he resided; Daughters, Catherine R. (Adam) Muth of Alburtis PA, Ruth I. (Adam) Reinhard of Bechtelsville PA and Fern M. (Adam) Kline of Kutztown PA; Sons, Franklin G. Adam of Mertztown PA and Paul L. Adam of Mertztown PA; Sister, Eva C. (Adam) Gaumer of Kutztown PA; Step Brother, Lee Stitzel of Kutztown PA; 13 Grandchildren and 26 Great Grandchildren. He is predeceased in death by his Granddaughter, Donna Adam who died in 1981.

Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday, October 22, 2002 from the Ludwick Funeral Home, 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown PA. Family and Friends may call Monday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 PM. Interment in Zion Moselem Church Cemetery, Kutztown.
