George C. Loeffler, 85, of Albany Township, died Friday, October 28, 2016, at his home. He was the husband of Barbara B. (Bowen) Loeffler. They were married July 4, 1955.
Born in South Orange, NJ, he was a son of the late George J. and Ethel P. (Wessel) Loeffler. George was a member of Saint Anne's Episcopal Church, Trexlertown. Mr. Loeffler was a deacon and previously served as the Bishop's Chaplain for many years and was a member of the choir. A graduate of Lehigh University, Bethlehem, Mr. Loeffler received a Bachelor's degree in physics. He was employed as an engineer for Bell Laboratories, first in Murray Hill, NJ, then Allentown, until his retirement in 1989.
In addition to his Wife of 61 years, Barbara, George is survived by 2 Daughters, Ann L. (Loeffler) wife of Grant L. Kotz, Alburtis and Carol C. Loeffler, Carlisle, Cumberland County. There are also 2 Granddaughters, Sharon L. Kotz and Laura B. Kotz.
Memorial Eucharist will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 2, 2016, at 7:00 PM in Saint Anne's Episcopal Church, 6667 Lower Macungie Road, Trexlertown, PA 18087. Inurnment will be private at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
The family requests contributions be made in memory of George to Saint Anne's Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 368, Trexlertown, PA 18087-0368. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
