George C Leiby

George C. Leiby, 86, of Richmond Township, died Friday, July 17, 2015, in Berks Heim, Bern Township, where he was a resident since January, 2015.  He was the husband of Geraldine E. (Kunkel) Leiby, whom he married May 20, 1951.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Joseph and Marietta (Christine) Leiby. Mr. Leiby was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Molltown. He was a 1948 graduate of  Kutztown Area High School and a United States Navy veteran, serving during the Korean War. Mr. Leiby was employed as a maintenance mechanic by the former Stroh's Brewery, Fogelsville for 22 years, retiring in 1990.

He is survived by Sons, Leonard C., husband of Margo A. (Cardinal) Leiby, Fleetwood, Jeffrey A., husband of Robin (Kuhns) Leiby, Kalamazoo, MI, and Eric C., husband of Kathy (Neidig) Leiby, Birdsboro; Sisters, Marilyn (Leiby) Bond, Fleetwood, Joanne (Leiby) Kanouse, Sparta, NJ, and Jane (Leiby) Kemmerer, Westminster, Co. There are also 4 Grandchildren, Jason Leiby, Dylan Leiby, Gwendolyn (Leiby) Larrabee, and Katherine (Leiby) White; 3 Step-Grandchildren, Allyson Farrier, Meghan Gumpher, and Amanda Black; and 2 Great Granddaughters, Kaylee Larrabee and Elise Leiby. George was predeceased by a Brother, Edwin Leiby.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at 11:00 AM in Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown. Interment will follow in New Bethel Cemetery, Kempton. Relatives and friends may call Wednesday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the funeral home.
