Mrs. Frona S.E. Dry

Frona S. E. (Mertz) Dry, 90, of Kutztown, passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2022 in Willow Brook Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, formerly Kutztown Manor. She was the widow of Donald R. Dry who passed away on May 8, 2009 and whom she married on November 3, 1956.

Born and raised in Smoketown, Rockland Township, Frona was a daughter of the late Paul W. and Helen L. (Geist) Mertz. She was a 1956 graduate of Kutztown Area High School and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Kutztown.

Mrs. Dry was employed as a Housekeeper and Custodian by The Lutheran Home at Topton from 1978 until her retirement in 1994. She loved seeing her friends when she would go out to eat at the Airport Diner in Kutztown or for family dinners at the Bowers Hotel. Above all, Frona loved her family, especially her grandkids and great-grandkids.

Frona is survived by her four children, Randolph M., husband of Judianne M. (Thomas) Dry, Winter Haven, FL, Daniel C. Dry, Breinigsville, David W. Dry, Dallas, TX, and Judy L. Dry, Kutztown; brother, Eugene W. Mertz, a resident of Berks Heim; four grandchildren, Brittany (Dry), wife of Nicholas Coulter, Meagan Dry, Jordan Dry, and Alexander, husband of Ellie Dry; and three great-grandchildren, Jackson, Addison, and Cashton.

Graveside services for Frona will be held privately by her family in Fairview Cemetery, Kutztown.
