Mr. Frederick J. Kern

Frederick J. Kern, Jr., 91, formerly of Allentown, passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2023 in Cedarbrook Nursing Home, Allentown.

Born in Breinigsville, PA, Fred was a son of the late Frederick J. Kern, Sr., and Sarah C. (Good) Kern - Bartholomew, and was a graduate of William Allen High School, Allentown. Frederick honorably and faithfully served his county in The United States Army National Guard during the Korean War.

During his career, Fred worked for Western Electric, Philco-Ford, Allentown Phoenix Mill, Bethlehem Steel, and Fuller Co. He enjoyed country music and playing his guitar.

Frederick is survived by his son, Frederick J. Kern, III, and his wife, Daria D. (Hargesheimer) Kern, of Kutztown; and nephew, Dennis Miller. Along with his parents, Frederick was predeceased by several brothers and sisters.

A private burial will be held in Union Church Cemetery, Neff's, PA.
