Mr. Frederick C. Hilbert

Frederick C. "Freddy" Hilbert, 84, of The Village of Shamrock (Mertztown), passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 12, 2022 in his residence, surrounded by his family. He was the widower of Patricia Ann "Patsy" (Miller) Hilbert, who died September 17, 2018, and whom he married on November 29, 1958.

Born in Emmaus, Fred was a son of the late Charles and Helen (Haberstumpf) Hilbert and was a graduate of Emmaus High School. Throughout the course of his career, Fred was employed by General Electric, General Seating and Sash, Caloric Corporation and Redner's Markets. He was a member of The Emmaus Fraternal Order of Owls and enjoyed bowling, fishing and woodworking.

Fred is survived by his three children, Tony R., husband of Ruth A. (Flicker) Hilbert, Kutztown, Cindy A. (Hilbert), wife of Richard E. Qillman, Jr., Fleetwood, and Mark A., husband of Tanya L. (Brensinger) Hilbert, Shamrock (Mertztown); four grandchildren, Richard J. Heffner, Jeremiah C. Heffner, Anthony T. Hilbert and Ethan P. Hilbert; great-granddaughter, Lillian F. Heffner; sister, Christine Mattern; and brother, Julius Hilbert.

A graveside service to celebrate Fred's life will be held privately in Longswamp Union Cemetery, Mertztown, PA.
