Franklin G. Adam

Franklin G. "Benji" Adam, 91, of Longswamp Township, died peacefully on Tuesday, August 18, 2026 in The Lutheran Home at Topton. He was the widower of Jean S. (Greis) Adam, who died September 12, 2013 and whom he married on April 19, 1958.

Born in Bowers, Benji was a son of the late George and Irene (Wanner) Adam. He was a member of Huff's Union Church, Alburtis. From a young age, Benji was a well known local butcher who would travel from farm to farm in his younger years. For the majority of his life, Benji was a farmer in Longswamp Township. He also was employed by The Lutheran Home at Topton in their maintenance department for many years.

Benji was a member of Pike Township Sportsman's Association and Topton Fire Company and enjoyed hunting. Benji was happiest when he was out and about socializing with his friends, whether it was on bus trips or at a local eatery. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Benji is survived by his three sons, Scott A., husband of Shelly A. (Bucks) Adam, Topton, Terry L., husband of Frances C. (Grow) Adam, Harrisburg and Troy A., husband of Beth J. (Schwalm) Adam, Mertztown; six grandchildren, Joshua Adam, Travis Adam, Amber Shilling, Jana Swoyer, Katie Kehm, Keegan Adam; and 11 great grandchildren, Cailey, Abby, Colton, Natalie, Jase, Corby, Quaid, Cooper, Calliope, Laken and Liam. He is also survived by his siblings, Catherine (Adam), widow of Oscar Muth, Alburtis, Paul, husband of Jean (Gift) Adam, Mertztown, Ruth (Adam), widow of Robert Reinhard, Bechtelsville, and Fern (Adam), widow of Roy Kline, Kutztown.

A funeral service to celebrate and honor Franklin's life will be held on Monday, August 24, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. in Ludwick Funeral Homes and Cremation Care, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, with Pastor Mike Todd officiating. Burial will follow in Huff Church Union Cemetery, Alburtis.

Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Sunday evening from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. and again on Monday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
