Franklin A. “Benji” Fenstermacher, 78, of Old Bowers Road, Bowers, PA (Maxatawny Township), died Tuesday, June 22, 2004, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest, (Salisbury Township), where he had been a patient since June 21st. He was the husband of the late Doris A. (Keim) Fenstermacher who died on November 8, 2001.
Born in Maxatawny Township, Berks County, PA, he was the son of the late George A. and the late Cora M. (Billig) Fenstermacher. He was an assembler at East Penn Manufacturing Co., Lyon Station, for 31 years retiring in 1991. He was paratrooper in the 11 th Airborne Division of the US Army during WWII. He was a past president of the Bowers Lions Club, Bowers, in the 1980’s. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Bowers.
He is survived by Son, Tod O. Fenstermacher, Maxatawny, PA; Daughters, Pamela G. (Fenstermacher) Unger, Kutztown, Lisa Jo (Fenstermacher) Youse, Hamburg, Tracy J. Fenstermacher, Kutztown; Brother, Denton S. Fenstermacher, Bowers (Maxatawny Township); Sister, Emma (Rollman) Haring, Topton; 9 Grandchildren.
Funeral Services are Friday at 11:00 AM from the Ludwick Funeral Home, 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown. Interment with Military Honors in New Jerusalem Union Cemetery, Fleetwood. Friends may call Friday from 9:00 to 11:00 AM.
The family requests contributions to the American Heart Association, West Lawn Professional Plaza, Building A, 25 Steven Avenue, West Lawn, 19609. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
