Mr. Frank D. Knight

Frank D. Knight, 88, of Hamburg and formerly of Topton, passed away on Friday, February 17, 2023 in Lehigh Valley Hospital -Cedar Crest, Salisbury Township. He was the loving husband of Brenda L. (Boyer) Knight, whom he married on December 9, 1990.

Born on October 16, 1934, Frank was a son of the late Harry and Catherine (Gommendinger) Knight. Frank was employed by The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation for 16 years working on the bridge and snow plowing crews. He also worked as a truck driver for Lenny Wells Paving, for 26 years.

Frank was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Mertztown. He loved going to the casinos and family gatherings and was always the life of the party. He will be sorely missed by his family and many friends.

In addition to his wife of 32 years, Brenda, Frank is survived by his daughter, Ruth (Knight), wife of Eric Crouse, Hellertown, four step-children, Keith, husband of Sherry Conrad, Hellertown, Bonnie (Conrad), wife of Chet Schappell, Kutztown, Luther Conrad, Reading, and Leon Conrad, companion of Jodi Stahler, Mertztown; sister, Mae (Knight), widow of Howard Sands, Newtown, five grandchildren, Donald Kline, Angel Melo, Gina Wolf, Robert Zimpfer, Jr., and Taran Crouse; five step-grandchildren, Samantha Skipper, Chyanne Koch, Kayla Conrad, Collin Conrad and Jordan Conrad; 16 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Frank was predeceased by his siblings, Della, Harry, Miriam, Kathleen, Anna, Watson, Josephine, Eva, John, Raymond and Louis “Sam”.

Frank’s remains were donated to science for medical research. A memorial service to celebrate and honor Frank’s life will be held at a later date in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Mertztown.
