Francis J. Wartzenluft, 86, of the Heilman House, Topton, formerly of Kutztown, died Wednesday, January 3, 2007 in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center, West Reading, where he had been a patient since January 2 nd . He was the husband of Helen A. (Emore) Wartzenluft. They were married on April 5, 1947.
Born in Maxatawny Township, Berks County, he was a son of the late William and Ada B. (Reppert) Wartzenluft. After farming, he was employed as a carpenter for 6 years. He was a truck driver for the former Hauck Feed Mill, Kutztown, for 13 years. He then worked as a mechanic for the former Ciliberti Company for 5 years and Nothstein Ford for one year both in Kutztown. He then worked for the Borough of Kutztown from 1971 until his retirement in 1982. He worked in the Highway Department, Water and Sewer Department and as a Borough Mechanic. He was a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, Kutztown.
He is survived by Wife, Daughters, Gloria M. Oswald, Kutztown, Susan J. Luckenbill, Topton, Bettie A. wife of James C. Hirko, West Lawn; Sons, Larry F. husband of Dianna L. (Oswald), Kutztown, Willard L. husband of RayAnn (Frantz), Fogelsville; Sister, Elizabeth S. Mertz, Kutztown; 7 Grandchildren, 5 Great Grandchildren. He was predeceased by Daughters, Linda M. on June 17, 1989 and Tina L. on January 12, 1959; Sister, Mabel I. Mertz on January 19, 1999 and Brother Stanley in 1959.
Memorial Services are Friday, January 12, 2007 at 10:30 AM in Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, 1343 Long Lane Road, Kutztown. Inurnment in New Bethel Zion Cemetery, Kutztown. Friends may call Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM.
The family requests contributions to the Muscular Dystrophy Assn., 5930 Hamilton Blvd, Allentown, PA 18106 or the Topton Ambulance, 115 Centre Ave., Topton, PA 19562. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
