Floyd F Miller

October 8, 1925 — June 14, 2005

Floyd F. Miller, 79, of Deer Lake, PA., formerly of Maxatawny Township, Berks County, PA, died Tuesday, June 14, 2005, in Pottsville Hospital, Pottsville, shortly after admission. He was the husband of the late Lois Jane (Stover) Miller who died on June 11, 1999.

Born in Easton, PA, he was the son of the late Charles R. and the late Emma J. (Kessler) Miller. He was a maintenance foreman at the former Pennsylvania Pump and Compressor, Easton, from 1953 to 1971; and, he worked at the former Schaeffer Brewery, Foglesville, from 1971 until his retirement in 1987. He was a former Maxatawny Township Supervisor from 1974 to 1978; he coached PeeWee Football during the 1950’s and 1960’s; and he founded and coached the Junior High Football League, Easton, during the 1960’s. He was also a member of the Horace M. Kieffer American Legion, Post 625, Fleetwood, PA. He was an Army veteran of WWII.

He is survived by Son, Floyd F. Miller, Jr., Kunkelstown, PA; Daughters, Marlene J. (Miller) Scott, Millsboro, DE, Patricia A. (Miller) Sheipe, Deer Lake, PA; Sister, Ellen (Miller) Hopler, Florida; 4 Grandchildren. He was predeceased by a Daughter, Margaret A. (Miller) Keck, who died in 1973.

Funeral Services are Friday, June 17, 2005 at 10:30 AM from the Ludwick Funeral Home, 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown. Inurnment Monday, June 20, 2005 at 1:00 PM in Gethsemane Cemetery, Easton. Friends may call Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM.

The family requests contributions to American Diabetes Foundation. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
