Florian M Jonas

Florian M. Jonas, died suddenly, Friday, March 11, 2016, on his 57th birthday, in his Lyon Station, residence. He was the husband of Penny D. (Schappell) Jonas, whom he married June 12, 2004.

Born in Bethlehem, Northampton County, he was a son of the late Florian and Patricia (Gorkos) Jonas.  He was protestant. Florian honorably and faithfully served his country as a member of United States Marine Corps. Mr. Jonas was employed as a painter by the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades, Local 1269, Bethlehem, for over 25 years, retiring in 2013.

He is survived by Wife, Penny, of 11 years; Step Daughter, Abigail E. Weller-Hall wife of Nathan D. Hall, Pottstown; Step Son, Joshua A. Weller, Eugene, Ore.; Sister, Patricia (Jonas) wife of Thomas Roth, Bethlehem; Brothers, Anthony, husband of Annamarie (Margl) Jonas, Nazareth.  Other survivors, include 2 Step Grandchildren, Calliope and Melody Hall; Nieces and Nephews, Thomas Roth, Jr., Matthew Roth, Amanda Jonas and Anthony Jonas, Jr.; and an Aunt, Marika Váradiné, Budapest, Hungary, along with cousins and great nieces and nephews and other extended family and friends.

A private memorial service will be held by the family at a later date.
