Florence M Dietrich

Florence M. (Kunkle) Dietrich, 82, of Kempton, died Saturday, May 10, 2014, in her family residence surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of Earl S. Dietrich, who died October 5, 2008 .

Born in Greenwich Township , she was a daughter of the late Lewis W. and Annie B. (Miller) Kunkle. Mrs. Dietrich was a member of Zion Moselem Lutheran Church, Kutztown. First and foremost, she enjoyed being a farmer's wife on her, and her late husband's farm in Albany Township. She also worked at the former Wenton Shoe Factory, Kutztown, a kitchen worker at the former SkyView Restaurant, Krumsville, and Holiday Inn and Conference Center, Fogelsville. Mrs. Dietrich was a member of Shartlesville and Virginville Fire Companies. She enjoyed quilting, needle point, embroidery, cooking, and gardening. Florence was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who looked forward to her yearly vacations and clamming in Delaware. This past Christmas, she quilted 34 quilts for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren .

She is survived by Daughters, Irene V. (Dietrich) Waits, Hamburg, Lorraine I. (Dietrich) Kunkel, companion of Calvin Bender, Jr., Bernville, Jean H. (Dietrich), wife of Charles E. Petersheim, Reading, Margaret D. (Dietrich), wife of Kenneth E. Miller, Mohrsville, Phyllis N. (Dietrich) Snyder, companion of Franklin Knoblauch, Hamburg; Sons, Stanley E., husband of Anne L. (Heckman) Dietrich, Hamburg; and Wilson L., husband of Joanne S. (Dreibelbis) Dietrich, Kempton; Sister, Lillian (Kunkle) Mengel, Lenhartsville. In addition there are 15 Grandchildren; and 20 Great Grandchildren. She was predeceased by a Daughter, Carol F. “Tootie” Dietrich who died December 9, 2000; 5 Sisters; and 3 Brothers .

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, May 15, 2014 at 10:30 AM from Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, with Reverend Rodrick H. Sutliff officiating. Interment will follow in Zion Moselem Church Cemetery, Richmond Township. Relatives and friends may call Wednesday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 PM, and Thursday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the funeral home .
