Mrs. Florabelle C. Christman

Florabelle C. (Hilbert) Christman, 96, of Reading, formerly of Topton, passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2023 in the residence of her daughter, Nancy. She was the widow of Milton L. Christman, who died on February 21, 2007, and whom she married on June 26, 1947.

Born in Topton, Florabelle was a daughter of the late Lester and Alice (Hertzog) Hilbert. She was employed as a laborer at the former Caloric Corporation, Topton, PA, but for most of her life, was a homemaker. She was a former member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Topton, member of Lyons Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and member of the former Kutztown Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. Florabelle took great pride in her home and raising her family. She also cleaned private residences for several years. She enjoyed reading and Sudoku puzzles.

Florabelle is survived by her children, Dale L., husband of Bonnie Christman, Blandon, Rita M. (Christman), wife of Kenneth Lash, Mohnton, Nancy M. (Christman), wife of Kevin DeLillo, Reading, and Faye A. (Christman), wife of Louis Kirsch, Rolesville, NC; siblings, Fern Readinger, Oley, Marlene Diachynsky, Barto, Patricia Roth, Fleetwood, and Melvin Hilbert, Lititz; nine grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; six step great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

Along with her husband and parents, Florabelle was predeceased by siblings, Gladys Grim, Edna Weiser, Carrie Rohrbach, Helen Kunkleman, Betty Matthew, Joyce Eisenhart, Shirley Ream, Lester Hilbert, Clarence Hilbert, and Harold Hilbert.

A graveside service to celebrate and honor Florabelle's life and burial will be held privately in Topton Union Cemetery, Topton, PA.
