Fay Betty Oels

Fay Betty (Moyer) Oels, 91, formerly of Alburtis, died Saturday, October 8, 2011 in Mosser Nursing Home, Trexlertown. She was the widow of Harry L. Oels, Jr., who died December 1, 1988.

Born in Macungie Township, Lehigh County, she was a daughter of the late Walter H. and Lillie S. (Snyder) Moyer. She was a member of Church of the Good Shepherd United Church of Christ, Alburtis. Mrs. Oels was employed by the United State Postal Service as a clerk at the Alburtis Post Office for 22 years until her retirement. Prior to that, she worked at the former Royal Manufacturing Co., Alburtis. She held memberships in the Alburtis Recreation Association, Alburtis Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and Daughters of America, Alburtis lodge.

She is survived by Daughter, Sylvia F. (Oels) wife of Charles W. Ruff, Saylorsburg, Monroe County; Son, Ronnie L. husband of Ruby E. (Oswald) Oels, Alburtis. Other survivors include Sisters, Fern D. (Moyer) wife of Wesley Landis, Connie L. (Moyer) wife of Clarence Bauer, both of Alburtis and Dr. Joan E. Moyer, Scottsdale, AZ. There are 6 Grandchildren, 8 Great Grandchildren and 9 Great-Great Grandchildren.

Funeral Services are Wednesday, October 12, 2011, at 2:00 PM from Church of the Good Shepherd UCC, 135 Quarry Road, Alburtis. Interment in Lehigh Zion Cemetery, Alburtis. Friends may call Wednesday, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM in the church.

The family requests contributions be made to Church of the Good Shepherd UCC, 135 Quarry Road, Alburtis, PA 18011. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Topton, PA.
