F Edgar Gleason

F. Edgar Gleason, age 92, of 177 North Whitehall Road, Norristown PA, died Wednesday, January 23, 2002 at Montgomery Hospital, Norristown PA. He was the Husband of Catherine M. (Pastorius) Gleason. They would have been married 71 years today, January 24th.

Born in Phoenixville PA, he was the son of the late Michael M. and Mary C. (O'Brien) Gleason. He was a Member of the Visitation Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, Trooper PA where he was a member of the choir for over 30 years from the 1950's to the 1980's. He was a Draftsman at Philadelphia Electric from 1948 until retiring in 1974. He also worked at former Bethlehem Steel, Pottstown, in the early 1930's and 1940's. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Phoenixville; a Member of the Norristown Chorale for 10 years; and a Volunteer at the Montgomery Hospital for 19 years.

He is survived by his Wife; Daughters, Mary Ann (Gleason) Travitzky of Audubon PA and Eileen M. Gleason of Kutztown PA; Sons, Francis E. Gleason of Cammerillo CA, Richard M. Gleason of Oakland CA, J. Thomas Gleason of Bossier City LA, Edward M. Gleason of Madison WI, Robert A Gleason of Elkins Park PA and Reverend Laurence J. Gleason of St. Catherine of Siena of Horsheim PA; Brother, Paul J. Gleason of Phoenixville PA; 27 Grandchildren and 26 Great Grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 30, 2002 in the Visitation Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, 196 North Trooper Road, Norristown PA. Interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Norristown. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., Kutztown PA.
