Evelyn K. Schlegel

Evelyn K. (Greiss) Schlegel, 89, of Kutztown, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 20, 2025 in her residence. She was a long-term companion of Walter A. Geist since 2011, and widow of Paul D. Schlegel, who died on October 26, 2002 and LeRoy C. Reidenhour, who died on October 5, 1981.

Born in Allentown, Evelyn was a daughter of the late Robert L. and Esta A. (Reinert) Greiss. Evelyn was a homemaker who took great pride in taking care of her home. She enjoyed cooking, baking, cleaning and decorating. She also enjoyed watching QVC and supporting their featured products. Evelyn also enjoyed music, especially Elvis. Those who knew her will remember her warmth, kindness, and unwavering spirit.

Along with her companion of 14 years, Walter and his family, Evelyn is survived by Sherry L. (Reidenhour), wife of Delbert Davis, Topton, and Lisa K. (Reidenhour), wife of Barry Slaven, Breinigsville; three grandchildren, Stacie L. (Shupp), wife of Michael Cuda, Breinigsville, Sean A. Thompson, Topton, and Michael A. Shupp, Stamford, CT; and one great-grandson, Nathan P. Cuda.

As per Evelyn's wishes, services and burial in Longswamp Union Cemetery, Mertztown, will be held privately by her family.
