Evelyn A. (Geist) Brensinger Hertzog, 86, formerly of Kutztown and Hawthorne House of Reading, passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2024 in Pennsburg Manor, Pennsburg, PA. She was the widow of Edwin Brensinger, who died in 1995.
Born in Bowers, Evelyn was a daughter of the late William and Helen (Angstadt) Geist. Evelyn lived a Christ centered life and was a member of Morning Star Fellowship Church, Bechtelsville, and Church on the Hill, Kutztown. She operated a residential cleaning service for many years. She was also a devoted caregiver who enjoyed the simple things in life. Evelyn's infections laugh and personality will be sorely missed by all those who knew her.
Evelyn is survived by her daughters, Brenda K. (Brensinger) Shade, Julia A. (Brensinger), wife of Stephen J. Potosnak, Mertztown, and Tanya L. (Brensinger), wife of Mark A. Hilbert, Mertztown; eight grandchildren, Jeff, Melody, Jason, Jonathan, Alyssa, Shelby, Anthony and Ethan; seven great-grandchildren; and step-sister, Fern Reitnouer. Along with her husband and parents, Evelyn was predeceased by a son, Larry L. Brensinger and two brothers, William Geist and Donald Geist.
A graveside service to celebrate and honor Evelyn's life and burial will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. in Longswamp Union Cemetery, 200 Clay Road, Mertztown, PA, with Pastor Stephen Winters officiating.
