Eva C. Gaumer, 88, of 246 Chestnut Street, Kutztown, died Monday, March 29, 2004, in her home. She was the widow of Charles F. Gaumer who died on November 9, 1973.
Born in Richmond Township, Berks County, PA, she was was the daughter of the late Irvin J. Adam and the late Mary S. (Kruse) Adam Stitzel. She was a cleaner for over 15 years at the former Wenton Shoe Company, Kutztown; and she was an inspector for 12 years at Katos Sportswear, also of Kutztown, retiring in 1984. She was a volunteer and member of the Kutztown Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, Kutztown. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Mertztown.
She is survived by Sons, Robert C. Gaumer, Mountain City, TN, Gene R. Gaumer, Birdsboro; Daughters, Shirley M. (Gaumer) McGowan, Hamburg, Dorothy E. “Tootie” (Gaumer) Geisler, with whom she resided, Stepbrother, Lee Stitzel, Kutztown (Richmond Township); 14 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren, 2 Great Great Grandsons.
Funeral services are Friday, April 2, 2004 at 10:30 AM from St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 50 Luther Drive, Mertztown. Interment in Longswamp Union Cemetery, Mertztown. Friends may call Thursday from 7:00 to 8:30 PM in the Ludwick Funeral Home, 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the church.
Flowers may be sent or contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund of the Church, PO Box 117, Mertztown, 19539. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
