Eugene E Ordway

Eugene E. Ordway, Jr. M.D., 66, of Upper Macungie Township, died Monday, December 12, 2016, at his summer home in the Frisco community on Hatteras Island, NC. He was the husband of Carolyn D. (Kemp) Ordway. They were married October 21, 1995.

Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Eugene E., Sr., and Clementine (Kozak) Ordway.  Dr. Ordway was a member of Saint Paul's United Church of Christ, Kutztown. Eugene completed his undergraduate studies at Colorado State University, Fort Collins, CO, receiving a bachelor of science degree in chemistry and physical sciences in 1973. He graduated from Hahnemann Medical School, Philadelphia, in 1977 and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed his residency and fellowship in interventional cardiology at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown.  Dr. Ordway was an interventional cardiologist in the Lehigh Valley over 25 years. He was last in practice with Dr. John J. Cassel, Allentown. He retired from practice in 2005. Dr. Ordway enjoyed off-shore fishing and was a licensed private pilot.

In addition to his wife of 21 years, Carolyn, Dr. Ordway is survived by his Children, Eugene E. Ordway, III, Coopersburg, PA; Lauren M. Ordway, Miami, Fla., David W. Ordway and Garrett K. Ordway, both at home. Other survivors include a Sister, Karen C. (Ordway) wife of William Hose, York, PA, a Brother, David D. Ordway and his wife, Karen, Carlsbad, Calif., and three beloved dogs.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 17, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. from Saint Paul's United Church of Christ, 47 S. Whiteoak Street, Kutztown, with Reverend John W. Davies and Reverend Dr. Robert D. Machamer, officiating. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.  Friends may call on Friday evening from 6:30 to 8:00 PM and Saturday, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM in the church.

The family requests contributions be made to Eugene E. Ordway, Jr., M.D. Memorial Fund to benefit the American Heart Association, c/o Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., P.O. Box 292, Kutztown, PA 19530-0292. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
