Mrs. Ethel I. Croll

Ethel I. (Rhodes) Croll, 89, of Topton, died peacefully, Sunday, December 13, 2020, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. She was the widow of Paul A. Croll, who died June 24, 1990. Her first husband, John Geist died in 1952. Born in Lyons Station, Ethel was a daugther of the late Robert E. and Evelyn K. (Fields) Rhodes. She was a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Topton. Ethel studied cosmetology at Empire Beauty School, Reading, and after her graduation opened Ethel's Beauty Salon, Topton. She retired in 1987. Ethel loved all types of animals. She was very active in her spare time. Golfing, skiing and bowling were some the activities she enjoyed.

Ethel is survived by two daughters: Patricia A. (Geist) Moyer, Fleetwood; and Paula K. (Croll), wife of William L. Muehlhauser, Key West, FL. There are three sisters: Shirley J. (Rhodes) Wolfe, Kutztown; Janet F. (Rhodes), wife of Robert Burdan, Laureldale; and Barbara A. (Rhodes), wife of the late Richard C. Miller, Kutztown; a brother: Dennis L. Rhodes, Orwigsburg, Schuylkill County. There are five grandchildren: Wayne A. (Deborah M.) Moyer; Patrick J. "P.J." (Margaret A.) Moyer; Amy L. Fichter; Kim L. (Fichter) Roberts; and Kyle C. (Bernadette M.) Muehlhauser; and eight great grandchildren: Alexis S. Moyer; Johnathan P. Moyer; Abigail M. Moyer; Sierra K. Moyer; Jordyn E. (Roberts) Innocent; Joshua T. Roberts; Leah K. Muehlhauser; and Brenden C. Muehlhauser. There are two great-great grandchildren: Victoria L. Roberts; and Hunter W. Roberts. In addition to her first husband John; her second husband Paul, and her parents, Ethel was predeceased by a grandson, Chad W. Muehlhauser, 09/16/1992; a daughter, Nancy J. (Geist) Fichter, 1978; sisters: Ruth E. (Rhodes) McCarty; Betty M. Rhodes; Ella E. (Rhodes) Auciello; brothers: LeRoy R. Rhodes; and Lester R. Rhodes.

A private graveside service to celebrate Ethel's life will be held in Topton Union Cemetery, Topton, at the convenience of the family. There are no public viewing hours.
