Esther S. (Epting) Fenstermacher, 94, formerly of Topton, died Wednesday, January 8, 2014 in Lehigh Center, Lower Macungie Township, where she was a resident since last September. She was the widow of Harold M. Fenstermacher, who died March 23, 2001 .
Born in Maxatawny Township , she was a daughter of the late George and Ida (Moyer) Epting. Mrs. Fenstermacher was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Topton. She was a 1938 graduate of Kutztown Area High School where she was the class salutatorian. She was employed as a telephone operator by the former Conestoga Telephone, Topton for several years. She had also been employed as a sewing machine operator by the former H.K. Deisher Knitting Mills, Kutztown, and the former Keith Knitting Mill, Mertztown. Mrs. Fenstermacher was a member of the Ray A. Master Post 217, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Topton .
She is survived by Daughter, Sandra A. (Fenstermacher), widow of Neal Wagaman, Binghamton, NY; Sons, Thomas D., husband of Fay A. (Serfass) Fenstermacher, Allentown, Randall H. Fenstermacher, Mohnton, Steven G. Fenstermacher, Topton; 5 Grandchildren, Scott Wagaman, Craig Wagaman, Randall Fenstermacher, Jr., Matthias Fenstermacher, Dr. Kristen Fenstermacher, V.M.D.; and 9 Great Grandchildren .
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family . Interment will be in Topton Union Cemetery. There are no calling hours .
Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Topton, PA.
