Esther M Madeira

Esther M. Madeira, 87, formerly of Foch Street, Kutztown, died Wednesday, December 8, 2004, in Kutztown Manor, Kutztown, where she had been a resident since December 2000. She was the wife of the late Harold F. Madeira, Sr. who died on March 22, 1957.

Born in Bowers, PA (Maxatawny Township), she was a daughter of the late Charles and the late Mamie E. (Reiter) Geiger. She was an office aide for Concern, Fleetwood, from 1983 until retiring in 1998. Prior to that she was an aide to the librarian at Kutztown University during the 1970’s; and, she was machine operator at the former Wenton Shoe Company, Kutztown, during the 1960’s and 1970’s. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Bowers.

She is survived by Daughters, Charlotte L. (Madeira) Mengel, Mertztown, Loretta M. (Madeira) Heffner, Kutztown; Sons, Harold F. Madeira, Jr., Fleetwood, Francis C. Madeira, Mertztown; Sister, Louella (Geiger) Conrath, Topton; 11 Grandchildren, 14 Great Grandchildren.

Funeral Services are Monday, December 13, 2004, at 10:30 AM from Hope Lutheran Church, 550 Fleetwood Road, Bowers, 19511. Interment in the Union Cemetery of Bowers, Bowers. Friends may call Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the church.

The family requests contributions to the Memorial Fund of Hope Lutheran Church. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
