Esther I Heydt

Esther I. Heydt, 96, of Kutztown, died Friday, June 26, 2009 in the In-Patient Hospice Unit of Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. She was the widow of Kenneth E. Heydt who died November 26, 1992.

Born in Lower Macungie Township, Lehigh County, she was a daughter of the late Jeremiah and Alice (Boyer) Trexler. She was a member of the Lutheran congregation of Zion’s Union Church, Maxatawny, where she and her late husband served as sextons for many years. She worked over 30 years as a sewing machine operator at the former Deisher Knitting Mills, Kutztown. In addition she and her late husband also worked as sextons of Saint Paul’s United Church of Christ Church, Kutztown, for several years.

She is survived by Daughters, Marie A. (Heydt) wife of Charles R. Moyer, Kutztown, Edna A. (Heydt) wife of Clair D. Kramer, Kutztown; Son, Vicar Jeremiah T. husband of Tina J. (Wilt) Heydt, Wichita Falls, TX. There are 3 Granddaughters, Stephanie A. (Moyer) Derstine, Molly S. (Kramer) Ebling and Jennifer A. (Kramer) Coburn; 5 Great Grandchildren, Brandi L. Derstine, Linzi M. Derstine, Elyse S. Ebling, Aaron D. Ebling, and Alyson M. Coburn.

Funeral Services are Tuesday, June 30, 2009, 10:30 AM from Zion’s Union Church, Route 222, Maxatawny. Interment in Zion Maxatawny Union Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday, 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the church.

The family requests contributions be made to Zion’s Union Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 100, Maxatawny, PA 19538-0100. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
