Esther E Boyer

Esther E. Boyer, 94, formerly of Greenwich Township, died Friday, May 18, 2007 in Laurel Center Genesis Elder Care, Tilden Township where she was a resident since January, 2006; prior to that she resided at Evans Retirement Home, Fleetwood, for six years. She was the widow of William J. Boyer, Sr. who died October 1, 1984.

Born in Perry Township, Berks County, she was a daughter of the late Howard H. and Annie L. (Miller) Merkel. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Mount Zion Lutheran Church, Greenwich Township, where she was a former Sunday School teacher.

She is survived by Daughter, Ellen E. (Boyer) Hill, Greenwich Township; Sons, Allen A. husband of Jane D. (Conrad) Boyer, Lyon Station, William J., Jr., husband of Dorethea M. (Kunkel) Boyer, Greenwich Township; Sisters, Naomi M. (Merkel) Stern, Topton, Elda M. (Merkel) Hassel, Bern Township; 10 Grandchildren, 21 Great Grandchildren, 6 Great Great Grandchildren. She was predeceased by Sisters, Irene C. (Merkel) Young, Anna (Merkel) Scheuring and Brother, Wayne Merkel.

Funeral Services are Tuesday, May 22, 2007, at 10:30 AM from Mount Zion Lutheran Church, 1343 Long Lane Road, Kutztown, 19530. Interment in New Bethel Zion Cemetery, Grimville. Friends may call Tuesday from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM in the church.

Flowers may be sent or contributions may be made to the memorial fund of Mount Zion Lutheran Church. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
