Ernest J Merkel

Ernest J. Merkel, age 84, of Breinig Run Circle, Breinigsville PA, died Tuesday, March 26, 2002 in the Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest. He was the Widower of the late Agnes N. (Miller) Merkel who died in 1991.

Born in Orefield PA, he was the Son of the late Clarence J. and Rosa L. (Schuler) Merkel. He was a Spot Welder for the former Caloric Corporation in Topton PA for over 30 years, retiring in 1981. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, having served during World War II. He was a Life Member of the Breinigsville VFW.

He is survived by his Step Son, Lee M. Muth of Emmaus PA; 2 Step Grandchildren and 5 Step Great Grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM Thursday, March 28, 2002 in the Ludwick Funeral Home, 25 E. Weiss Street, Topton PA. Family and Friends may call 9:00 AM Thursday in the Funeral Home. Interment in Zion Maxatawny Union Cemetery, Maxatawny PA.
