Mrs. Erma B. Guinther

Erma B. (Reichert) Guinther, 101, of Mertztown, passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 in The Lutheran Home at Topton. She was the widow of Wayne A. Guinther who died on March 2, 2002.

Born in Rockland Township, Erma was a daughter of the late William F. and Alice S. (Oswald) Reichert. Erma was a long-time and faithful member of New Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Rockland Township. She was employed as a sewing machine operator for many years, working at the former Marcus Manufacturing, Keith Knitting Mills and Fleetwood Sportswear.

Erma loved to bowl and was a member of the former Lyons Fire Company Bowling League. She also enjoyed sewing, oil painting and reverse glass painting.

Erma is survived by her son, David M., husband of Diane M. (Lichtenwalner) Guinther, Mertztown; granddaughter, Carole J. (Guinther), wife of Paul Eiben; and two great-grandchildren, Jay P. Eiben and Keri M. Eiben; as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with her husband and parents, Erma was predeceased by a son, Kerry W. Guinther on May 4, 2012 and several brothers and sisters.

A memorial service to celebrate and honor Erma's life will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in New Jerusalem Lutheran Church, 27 Lyons Road, Fleetwood, PA, with The Rev. Ruth F. Doty officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining New Jerusalem Union Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. in the church.
