Erma A Rhode

Erma A. Rhode, 85, formerly of Centre Avenue, Topton, died Friday, July 8, 2005, in The Lutheran Home at Topton, Longswamp Twp., Berks County, PA. She was the wife of the late Russell J. Rhode who died May 2, 1978.

Born in Rockland Twp., Berks County, PA, she was the daughter of the late George A. and the late Mabel (Fenstermacher) Kutz. She was a sewing machine operator at the former Marcus Manufacturing Co., Topton, for over 35 years, retiring in 1965. She was a member of New Jerusalem Lutheran Church.

She is survived by Son, Russell J. Rhode, Jr., Lyons, PA; Daughters, Sylvia A. (Rhode) Fies, St. Petersburg, Fla, Theresa G. (Rhode) Kerchner, Mertztown, PA, Sharon R. (Rhode) Sicher, Topton, PA; Sister, Phyllis A. (Kutz) Moyer, Topton, PA; Brothers, Ray M. Kutz, Topton, PA, John C. Kutz, Kutztown, PA, Roger B. Kutz, Macungie, Lehigh County, PA; 13 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren, 3 Step Grandchildren, 2 Step Great Grandchildren.

Funeral Services are Thursday, July 14, 2005, at 11:00 AM from New Jerusalem Lutheran Church, 27 Lyons Road, Fleetwood (Rockland Twp.). Interment in New Jerusalem Union Cemetery, Fleetwood (Rockland Twp.). Friends may call Thursday, 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM in the church.

The family requests contributions be made to the memorial fund of New Jerusalem Lutheran Church, 27 Lyons Road, Fleetwood 19522. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Topton, PA.
