Emory G. Wehr, Sr., 85, of Kutztown, passed away on Saturday, June 19, 2021 in Kutztown Manor, Inc. He was the husband of Margaret M. (Smith) Wehr who died November 18, 1990.
Born in Mertztown, Emory was a son of the late Earl A. and Frances M. (Kressley) Wehr. Emory honorably and faithfully served his county in the Army National Guard. He was a member of Kutztown Bible Fellowship Church.
Emory worked as a Groundskeeper at Berkleigh Country Club, Kutztown, for over 30 years and as a manager of the former Shamrock Golf Course for many years. He had a love for music and played the organ, accordion, and harmonica. Emory also enjoyed playing golf and hunting, going on vacations and to amusement parks. Emory enjoyed working on cars, and even managed an auto garage in Kutztown. One of his favorite trips was traveling to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee to Dollywood.
Emory is survived by his five sons, Emory G. Wehr, Jr., Blandon, Robin Wehr, and his wife, Jackie, Leesport, Ricky S. Wehr, Sr., widower of Diana, Etters (York County), Mark Wehr, and his wife, Carol, Muhlenberg Twp., and Wayde Wehr, and his wife, Julie, Myerstown; 12 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, parents, and daughter-in-law, Emory was predeceased by his sister, Georgiana (Wehr) Smith and his brother, Dean Hunter Wehr, Sr.
A graveside service to celebrate Emory's life and burial alongside his wife Margaret, will be held on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at 2:30 p.m. in Zion Moselem Church Cemetery, 340 Moselem Church Road, Kutztown (Richmond Twp.,) PA, with Pastor Ezekiel Mack officiating. Military honors by The Pennsylvania Military Funeral Honor Guard, Fort Indiantown Gap, Annville, will conclude the services.
