Elvin H. Keiser, Sr., 94, of District Township, died suddenly Tuesday, September 4, 2012, as the result of a traffic accident in Boyertown Borough. He was the widower of Ella (Tworkoski) Keiser, who died November 3, 1993.
Born in District Township, he was a son of the late George and Sallie (Beitler) Keiser. Mr. Keiser was a member of the Lutheran congregation of Huffs Union Church, Alburtis. Mr. Keiser was a former member and council president of St. Pauls Lutheran Church Mertztown. Elvin was a graduate of Longswamp High School, Mertztown. Mr. Keiser first worked in the shipping department of Caloric Corporation at its former Topton plant from 1947 to 1962; Then, he operated a planer in the wood department of the former Boyertown Casket Company, from 1962 until his retirement in 1983.
He is survived by Daughter, Dolores M. (Scheirer) wife of William L. Swavely, Earl Township and a Son, Elvin H. Keiser, Jr., Hereford Township. Other survivors include a Step Sister, Iva (Hilbert) widow of Michael Tworkoski, a resident at The Lutheran Home at Topton and a Step Brother, Paul Hilbert, Longswamp Township. There are also 6 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren and 7 Great-Great Grandchildren.
Funeral Services are Monday, September 10, 2012 at 10:30 AM from Huffs Union Church, 340 Conrad Road, Alburtis. Interment in Union Cemetery of Boyertown. Friends may call Monday, from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the church.
The family requests contributions be made to Huff’s Union Church Capital Improvement Fund, 340 Conrad Road, Alburtis, PA 18011. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Topton, PA.
