Eleanor M Berger

Eleanor M. (Kunkel) Berger, 87, of Kutztown, died Monday, March 9, 2015 in Phoebe Home, Allentown, where she was a resident for one month. She was the widow of Lloyd H. "Tubby" Berger, who died October 4, 2002 .

Born in Kutztown, she was the daughter of the late Anthen N. and Alma (Barner) Kunkel. Mrs. Berger was a member of Saint John's Lutheran Church, Kutztown, where she served as a Sunday school teacher for 25 years, and a choir member for 49 years. She also was employed by Saint John's Lutheran Church as the church secretary for 30 years. Mrs. Berger was a 1945 graduate of Kutztown Area High School; and a life member of Order of Eastern Star, East Penn Chapter #336, Kutztown. Eleanor had a love for music and photography .

She is survived by Daughter, Lenora E. (Berger), wife of Barney J. Dannelke, Allentown; Son, Glenn L. Berger, Fleetwood; Brother, Paul F., husband of Doris Kunkel, Allentown; and one Granddaughter, Kyla R. Dannelke, Chicago, IL .

At Eleanor's request, graveside services and inurnment will be private in Zion Maxatawny Union Cemetery, Kutztown, in the springtime .

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Saint John's Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 201 East Main Street, Kutztown, PA  19530 . Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
