Eleanor C. Reppert, 85, of Mertztown died Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at the Lutheran Home at Topton. She was the wife of the late Cmdr. Thomas C. Reppert, who died July 27, 1983.

Born in Topton, she was a daughter of the late Harry A. and Erma (Derr) Trexler. Eleanor was an active member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, Krumsville. She traveled the world following her husband through different service stations, moving at least 18 times including three different continents. She had the privilege of dining with many kings, queens, and heads of state. Eleanor spent her life volunteering and serving. She was active in the Navy Officer Wife’s Club, Kempton Community Center, Kempton Lioness Club, Keystone Blood Bank, Meals on Wheels, the Lutheran Home at Topton, Mt. Zion Senior Friends, Pioneer Grange #1777, Topton, serving as Grange Pioneer in 2000, Topton American Legion, Lyons Auxiliary, and many other organizations. She loved staying active, gardening, dancing, bingo, and going to the casinos. Eleanor could always be found in the kitchen.

She is survived by Daughter, Ann M. (Reppert) wife of Brent C. Dietrich, Fleetwood; Sons, Darrel D. husband of Lynn C. (Haas) Reppert, Trexlertown, Thomas L. husband of Michele (Collyer) Reppert, Topton, Alan N. husband of Tamra A. (Miller) Reppert, Kempton; Daughter-in-law, Cindy (Manwiller) Reppert, Leesport; Sisters, May (Trexler) Behm, Ruth (Trexler) Kistler, Myrl (Trexler) Anderson, all of Topton; Brothers, Irwin “Buddy” husband of Glenna Trexler, Topton, Franklin husband of Pearl Trexler, Mertztown, Carl Trexler, Allentown, Lowell husband of Shirley Trexler, Topton; Sister-in-law, Catherine (Reppert) Matthews, Kempton; Brother -in- law, Eddie Schade, Lyon Station; Aunt, Kathryn (Derr) Pensinger, Topton. She is also survived by14 Grandchildren, 2 Step Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren, and 4 Step Great Grandchildren. Eleanor was predeceased by a Son, James D. Reppert in 1986, Grandson, Darrel D. Reppert, Sisters, Irene Stopp, Fern Schade, and Francis Miller.

Funeral Services are Saturday, March 19, 2011, at 10:30 AM from Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, 1343 Long Lane Road, Kutztown, 19530. Interment will be in Union Cemetery of Bowers. Friends may call Friday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 PM, and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the church.
