Eleanor A. (Silsdorf) Freed, 90, of West Chester, formerly of Bowers, PA, died Monday, February 24, 2014 in Brandywine Hall Genesis HealthCare, West Chester, Chester County. She was the widow of Lloyd H. Freed who died August 15, 1994 .
Born at her parent’s farm in Bowers, she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Beulah (DeLong) Silsdorf. Except for the last few years, she lived her entire life in Bowers. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church. Mrs. Freed first worked as a seamstress at the former Wenton Shoe Factory, Kutztown and a sewing machine operator at the former Deisher Knitting Mills, Kutztown until her retirement in 1985. She was a member and past president of the Bowers Lioness Club; enjoyed traveling to new places; vacationing in the Poconos; playing cards with her card club in Bowers; and playing bingo. Mrs. Freed was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliaries of the Lyons Fire Company No. 1, and Kutztown Fire Company No. 1 .
She is survived by Son, Robert L., husband of Nelly (Prinz) Freed, West Chester. Other survivors include Sisters, Shirley (Silsdorf), widow of Clifford Youse, Las Vegas, NV, Dorothy (Silsdorf), wife of Aaron DeWalt, Troy, Bradford County and Mary Ann (Silsdorf), wife of James Bond, Colorado Spring, CO. There are also 2 Grandchildren, Erika P. Freed, Brooklyn, NY and Peter R. P., husband of Sarah C. (Urbine) Freed, Downingtown. She was predeceased by Brothers, Ralph Silsdorf and Lee Silsdorf.
Funeral Services are
Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Hope Lutheran Church, 550 Fleetwood Road, Bowers
.
Interment at Union Cemetery of Bowers will be private at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends are welcome to call Saturday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the church

The family requests contributions be made to Hope Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 88, Bowers, PA 19511-0088. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
