Elaine F. (Linnert) Slocum, 86, of Kutztown, PA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, in her residence. She was the wife of Wayne D. Slocum, whom she married on August 29, 2015. Her first husband, Verle G. Faust passed in 1993 and her second husband, John Miller, passed in 2010.

Born in Pittsburgh, PA, Elaine was a daughter of the late Robert and Ann (Pope) Linnert. She was a 1956 graduate of Brentwood High School, Pittsburgh, where she was a member of the choir. Elaine was employed by South Hills Assembly of God, Bethel Park, PA as the Secretary to the Sr. Pastor for many years. For most of her life however, Elaine took care of her home and enjoyed raising her family. She even served as a Cub Scout Den Mother when her son was younger and involved with scouting.

Elaine was a member of Grandview Park Church of God in Pittsburgh for many years. She served as a teen Sunday school teacher, pianist and soloist. Elaine later became a member of South Hills Assembly of God, Bethel Park, PA, where she was the pianist, secretary, soloist and choir member. In her retirement years, she attended Walnut Grove Assembly of God in Pittsburgh. Most recently, Elaine attended The Church on the Hill, Kutztown, where her son-in-law serves as the Pastor. Elaine was a talented pianist, singer and vocalist. Her love of music was even passed down to her family members. She also had a special place in her heart for animals. Elaine touched the lives of many with her kindness, grace, and unwavering spirit. Elaine's life was one of compassion and reflection, as she dedicated herself to her family and community. Her legacy will continue through the countless lives she touched with her gentle spirit.

In addition to her husband Wayne, Elaine is survived by her two children, Mark A., husband of Sylvia D. (Demers) Faust, Mount Pleasant, SC, and Wendy J. (Faust), wife of Pastor Stephen L. Winters, Bowers, PA; sister, Joyce (Linnert), widow of Richard Barbour, Richmond, Virginia; seven grandchildren, Zachary Winters (Olivia), Seth Winters (Briana), Daniel Winters (Abigail), Rachel Winters (Wayne), Derek Faust (Jessica), Micah Winters and Shayna Faust; and 12 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service to celebrate and honor Elaine's life will be held on Friday evening, May 9, 2025 at 6:00 PM at The Church on the Hill, 217 Hottenstein Road, Kutztown, with Pastor Stephen L. Winters officiating. A viewing will be held from 5:00 to 6:00 PM in the church.

A second funeral service will be held on Monday, May 12, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Jefferson Memorial Cemetery - Mausoleum Chapel, 401 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, PA. A procession will form at the cemetery office beginning at 10:30 a.m. Burial, alongside her husband Verle, will conclude services at Jefferson Memorial Cemetery.
