Einar C Johnson

August 11, 1916 — January 11, 2006

Einar Cornelius Johnson, 89, formerly of Willow Grove and Kutztown, died Wednesday, January 11, 2006, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, 1200 South Cedar Crest Boulevard, Salisbury Twp., Lehigh County, near Allentown, where he was a patient one day. He was taken there from Lehigh Center, Macungie (Lower Macungie Twp.) where he resided for the last six (6) years. He was the husband of the late Florence M (Hanson) Johnson who died October 29, 2005.

Born in Hankinson, North Dakota, he was the son of the late Anton and the late Signe (Grue) Johnson. He was employed as an electrical engineer by the US Government for over 30 years retiring as superintendent of Command and Control at the Naval Air Development Center, Johnsville, PA, in 1974. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from The University of North Dakota in 1939. He received his Master of Science degree, also in Electric Engineering, from University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia in 1956. He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America, receiving the rank of Eagle Scout while in Hankinson, ND. He received several patents on several electronic devices he invented. He was a member of Oak Lane Presbyterian Church, Philadelphia.

He is survived by Daughter, Nancy L. (Johnson) Stamatakos, San Antonio, TX; Sons, Rolf S. Johnson, Horsham, Montgomery County, Dennis E. Johnson, Kutztown (Richmond Twp.); 5 Grandchildren, 4 Great Grandchildren.

Funeral Services are Monday, January 16, 2006 at 2:00 PM from Ludwick Funeral Home, 333 Greenwich St., Kutztown. Interment in Zion Moselem Church Cemetery, Kutztown (Richmond Twp.). Friends may call Monday, 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
