Einar Andersen, 78, of Topton, died suddenly Tuesday, December 9, 2008, in his home. He was the husband of Myrl B. (Trexler) Andersen. They were married October 11, 1952.

Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Einar M.and Signy (Pettersen) Andersen. He was a devoted and faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Topton, where he served on the offering counting committee. He was a US Navel Reserve Veteran with over 15 years of service. He was Maintenance Supervisor at Caloric Corporation for 30 years at its former Topton plant. He retired in 1988. He then was a school bus driver for Northwestern Lehigh School District for six years. Mr. Andersen received an associate degree in engineering from Temple University, Philadelphia. He was a member of West Lawn Senior Citizens and Sons of Norway, Philadelphia. He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan, enjoyed playing cards, and watching his grandchildren’s activities.

He is survived by Wife, Daughters, Pamela K. (Andersen) wife of Michael J. Reinhart, Macungie, Lisa A. (Andersen) wife of William M. McGrath, Blandon, Louise A. (Andersen) wife of Randy A. Carl, Topton; Son, Einar L. Andersen fiancé of Rebecca A. (Berwind) Roman, Shillington. There are 2 Sisters, Signe (Andersen) widow of George Kulp, Harleysville, Montgomery County, Elsie (Andersen) widow of Harry Height, Toms River, NJ. In addition, there are 7 Grandchildren, Michael P. Reinhart, Timothy A. Reinhart, Austin T. McGrath, Cullin A. McGrath, Erik A. Carl, Haley J. Andersen, and Mia C. Andersen. He was predeceased by a Granddaughter, Nicole L. Reinhart.

Memorial Services are Sunday, December 14, 2008, 6:30 p.m. in Trinity Lutheran Church, Home Avenue & East Smith Street, Topton. Inurnment is private at the convenience of the family. Friends may call Sunday from 5:30 to 6:30 PM in the church.

The family requests contributions be made to the memorial fund of Trinity Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 37, Topton, 19562-0037. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Topton, PA.
