Eileen Black- Rodriguez, 58, of Topton, PA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, in Andover Village Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation, Andover, Ohio. She was the loving wife of Arnold Ray Rodriguez, whom she married on October 24, 1992.
Born in Downey, CA, Eileen was a daughter of the late Joseph L. and Karen D. (Dunn) Black. She was a graduate of Tolleson High School in Tolleson, AZ, and attended Brigham Young University in Provo, UT, where she studied music. She then attended Phoenix College in Phoenix, AZ, where she studied opera as a mezzo soprano and enjoyed participating in their musical operas. She completed her education at Cerritos College in Norwalk, CA, where she graduated and earned her associates degree. Eileen was employed as a Manager of Governance and Reporting for Shared Business Services by Air Products since 1988. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Eileen loved the Brandywine Heights and Topton community. She owned and operated Sweet Tempered Chocolates on Home Avenue, for six years, and was a former member of The Brandywine Heights School Board of Directors, Brandywine Heights Community Task Force and Topton Street Fair Committee. Eileen loved to travel, especially with her husband Arnold and had a love for the beach. She also loved to cook and enjoyed making food and catering. She had a love for music and singing and was a talented vocal coach, teacher and mentor to countless children over the years. She was also an accomplished percussionist and piano player and taught sign language to children at her church. She was an unwavering support to her family and a source of joy, laughter, and love in their lives. Eileen cultivated strong bonds with her loved ones and friends, creating a legacy of warmth and kindness that will forever resonate in their hearts.
Along with her husband Arnold, Eileen is survived by her son, Michael R. Rodriguez, and his wife Dorothy, of Topton; one sister, Julia Black; and three brothers, Daniel Black, Wyatt Black and J. Kevin Black.
A funeral service to celebrate and honor Eileen's life will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. in Ludwick Funeral Homes and Cremation Care, Inc., 25 E. Weis Street, Topton, PA, with a viewing beginning at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. An interment service will conclude services promptly at 2:30 p.m. in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA.
