Edwin R Fritz

Edwin R. Fritz, 83, of East Walnut Street, Kutztown, died Wednesday, January 4, 2006, in Reading Hospital and Medical Center, West Reading, where he had been a patient since January 3 ^rd . He was the husband of JoAnn B. (Barto) Fritz. They were married on June 8, 1951.

Born in Shillington, PA, he was the son of the late James E. and the late Mary (Hall) Fritz. He was the Chief Expeditor at Bechtel Corporation, San Francisco, CA for over 25 years retiring in 1984. He was a 1940 graduate of Shillington High School, Shillington; and, a 1948 graduate of Pennsylvania State University with a BA in Engineering. He was a veteran of the Army Air Corp serving with the 367 Fighter Group during WWII. He was a member and past president (1964-1965) of the Kutztown Lions Club, Kutztown; a member of the Penn State Alumni Association; and a former member of the board of the Fairview Cemetery, Kutztown. He was a member of St. Paul’s UCC Church, Kutztown.

He is survived by Wife, Daughters, Lynn J. (Fritz) Mosser, Boyertown (Colebrookdale Twp.), Stacy L. Fritz, Fleetwood (Ruscombmanor Twp.); Son, Gary K. Fritz, Bowers (Maxatawny Twp.); Sisters, Helen (Fritz) Snyder, Green Hills, Grace (Fritz) Rehrer, Reading; Brother, Alan W. Fritz, Silver Spring, MD; 2 Granddaughters.

Memorial Services are Saturday, January 7, 2006 at 10:30 AM in St. Paul’s UCC Church, 47-51 South Whiteoak Street, Kutztown. Private inurnment with Military Honors in Fairview Cemetery, Kutztown. Friends may call Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the church.

The family requests contributions to the Mid Atlantic Air Museum, 11 Museum Road, Reading, PA  19605. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
