Edwin B. Ruth, 54, of Longswamp Township, died Wednesday, March 25, 2009 in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. He was the husband of Brenda S. (Rohrbach) Ruth. They were married on October 18, 1975.

Born in Allentown, PA he was a son of Dorothy I. (Frey) Ruth of Breinigsville and the late William H. Ruth, Sr. He was a rural trash collector for Waste Management, Weisenberg Township; prior to that he was a delivery loader for the former Freeman’s Dairy, Allentown, and an assembler for the former Volney Felt Company, Emmaus.

He is survived by Wife, Mother, Sons, Jason A. Ruth, Mertztown, Seth M. husband of Amy L. (Engelman) Ruth, Kutztown; Sisters, Dorothy I. (Ruth) wife of Randy Miller, Breinigsville, Rose E. (Ruth) wife of Harold Haas, Kutztown; Brothers, Dennis E. husband of Carol (Smith) Ruth, Bally, Richard A. husband of Diane (Warmkessel) Ruth, Allentown, William H. Ruth, Jr., Reading and Hal husband of Marixsa (Lamboy) Ruth, Lehighton. There are also several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services are Saturday, March 28, 2009 at 10:00 AM from St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 50 Luther Drive, Mertztown. Friends may call Friday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 PM in the Ludwick Funeral Home, 25 East Weis Street, Topton, and Saturday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 AM in the church.

Flowers may be sent or contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 498 Bellevue Avenue, Reading, PA 19605 or the American Cancer Society, Lehigh Valley Unit 3893 Adler Place Bethlehem, PA 18017. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Topton, PA.
