Edward L Zuroweste

Edward L. Zuroweste, 93, of Kutztown, formerly of Waynesville, Ohio, died Tuesday, December 13, 2011 in his residence. He was the husband of Sarah “Betty” (Karn) Zuroweste. They were married March 12, 1947.

Born in Webster Grove, Missouri, he was a son of the late Edward William and Ruby Johanna (Lambert) Zuroweste. He was a member of Waynesville United Methodist Church, Waynesville, OH. Edward was a U.S. Army veteran, serving his country in World War II as a paratrooper. He was a First Sergeant in the 508th Regiment of the 82nd Airborne Division under General Matthew B. Ridgway. He was a 1936 graduate of Bellbrook High School, Bellbrook, OH. Edward was employed as a tool maker by Associated Spring Tool and Die, Dayton, OH for over 30 years. He was also a self employed farmer. He was a charter member of the Matthew Ridgway Chapter of the 82nd Airborne Division Association, Dayton, OH, and the Waynesville Lodge #163 F. & A.M., Waynesville, OH. Edward was an avid gardener, and enjoyed fishing, golf, the stock market, and traveling with his wife and friends.

He is survived by Wife, Daughters, Michele Z. wife of Thomas J. Buday, Kutztown, PA, Joylyn Z. wife of Dennis C. Bunnell, Lebanon, OH; Son, Edward Lee Zuroweste, II, husband of Candace Kugel, State College, PA; Sisters, Gladys Putnam, West Carrolton, OH, Dorothy Fiely, Atlanta, GA; Sister-in-law, Barbara K. Zuroweste, Xenia, OH. He is also survived by 10 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren. He was predeceased by a Sister, Irma Rodgers, and a Brother, Norman Zuroweste.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 2:00 PM in Waynesville United Methodist Church, Corner of Third and North Streets, Waynesville, OH 45068. Inurnment will be private at the convenience of the family. The family will greet relatives and friends after the service, in the church.
