Edward A Hauck

Edward A. “Eddie” Hauck, 81, of Kutztown, died on Monday, March 21, 2016 in The Lutheran Home at Topton. He was the husband of Grace E. (Angstadt) Hauck, whom he married on October 4, 1958.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Orville E. and Louise A. (Ringleben) Hauck. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Kutztown. Ed was a 1952 graduate of Kutztown Area High School, Kutztown, where he played on the 1950 and 1951 State Championship Basketball Team under Coach John Silan. In 1952, the Kutztown team was State Runner-up in the championship. Edward was a 1957 graduate of Penn State University, State College, receiving a Bachelor's degree in business and agriculture. He was employed by the U.S. Postal Service, working as a mail carrier in Kutztown for 33 years, retiring in 1998. Prior to that, Eddie worked with his father at Hauck Feed & Supply in Kutztown. He was a member of Cougar Tail, Kutztown, and the former Kutztown Jaycees.

In addition to his wife of 57 years, Grace, he is survived by 3 Sons, Chris E., husband of Susan L. (Host) Hauck, Fleetwood, Scott A., husband of Debra A. (Slifer) Hauck, Hamburg, and Tom A., husband of Tanya A. (Gonzalez) Hauck, San Diego, CA; one Sister, Carol L. (Hauck), wife of Lee W. Erb, Kutztown; 7 Grandchildren, Kayla L. (Hauck), wife of Michael Kramer, Brett F. Hauck, Lucas S. Hauck, Shawna L. Hauck, Isabelle G. Hauck, Bethany R. Hauck and Aubrey E. Hauck; and one Great Granddaughter; Ryleigh Marie Kramer.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 25, 2016 at 1:30 PM in Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, with Reverend Keith K. Rohrbach officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday from 12:30 to 1:30 PM in the funeral home. Inurnment will be private at the convenience of the family.
