Earl S. Dietrich, 80, of Kempton, died Sunday, October 5, 2008, in his family residence surrounded by his loving wife of 59 years and his family. He was the husband of Florence M. (Kunkle) Dietrich. They were married August 20, 1949.

Born in Richmond Township, Berks County, he was a son of the late Pious and Ida (Hottenstein) Dietrich. He was a member of Zion Moselem Lutheran Church, Richmond Township. He was a self employed dairy and crop farmer for 57 years, first in Tilden Township, Berks County, and for the last 25 years in Albany Township. He was a former member and past president of Zion Moselem Church Cemetery Board of Directors. He was a member of Virginville, Kutztown, Hamburg and Shartlesville Fire Companies. He was also a member of the Board of Directors of the former Farmer Union Dairy, Muhlenberg Township.

He is survived by Wife; Daughters, Irene V. (Dietrich) Waits, Hamburg, Lorraine I. (Dietrich) Kunkel, Bernville, Jean H. (Dietrich) wife of Charles E. Petersheim, Reading, Margaret D. (Dietrich) wife of Kenneth E. Miller, Mohrsville, Phyllis N. (Dietrich) Snyder, Hamburg; Sons, Stanley E. husband of Anne L. (Heckman) Dietrich, Hamburg, Wilson L. husband of Joanne S. (Dreibelbis) Dietrich, Kempton. There are 3 Sisters, Catherine (Dietrich) Stern, Hamburg, Helen (Dietrich) Moyer, Temple, Dorothy (Dietrich) McLaughlin, Hamburg, Brothers, Raymond Dietrich, James Dietrich and Harold Dietrich, all of Hamburg. In addition there are 13 Grandchildren, 2 Step Grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren and 9 Step Great Grandchildren. He was predeceased by a Daughter, Carol F. “Tootie” Dietrich who died December 9, 2000.

Funeral Services are Thursday, October 9, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. from Ludwick Funeral Home, 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown. Interment in Zion Moselem Church Cemetery, Richmond Township. Friends may call Wednesday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 PM and Thursday, 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the funeral home. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
