Mr. Douglas H. Newcomb

August 29, 1959 — April 17, 2024

Douglas H. Newcomb, 64, of Bern Township, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 in his residence. He was the husband of Tina M. (Juhasz) Newcomb, whom he married on October 20, 2023.

Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, Douglas was a son of Rosemary (Wertz) Miller of Missouri, and the late Harry L. Newcomb. He was a graduate of Schuylkill Valley High School, Leesport, where he also attended vo-tech for printing. Doug was a printer by trade all his working career. He began by working for his father’s printing business, Dru-Mar Printing. Most recently, Doug was employed as a Print Manager by Office Service Company, Reading, for the past two years. Prior to that, he worked at several other printing companies in the Berks County area.

Doug loved sports, especially football and baseball. He was a diehard Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies fan. He also enjoyed playing pool and spending quality time with his family and friends. His easy going and “good-guy” personality will be sorely missed by those who knew him. Hopefully Doug is enjoying a good cocktail while playing a killer air guitar in the sky!

Along with his cherished wife, Tina, Doug is survived by his six children, Dean M. Flood, Coatesville, Tiffany M. Flood, wife of Andrew J. Merrick, Reading, twins Clarence M. Flood, III, Reading and Cory M. Flood, and four-legged companion, Hansel, Reading, Julia A. Faust-Newcomb, Reading, and Tristan R. Waruszewski, Reading; four grandchildren, Andrew J. Merrick, III, Shane M. Flood, Joseph A. Merrick, and Sophia R. Curran; sister, Mary Jones, Mustang, OK, and her son, Sean Beegle; and aunt Ethel M. (Wertz) Dematteo – Beck, wife of Brian A. Beck, Kutztown.
